Hello, Queer Connect community!
We’re excited to share an incredible opportunity to help shape the future of Kansas City’s LGBTQIA+ community. At Queer Connect, we’re all about building connections, fostering unity, and making sure every voice in our community is heard. That’s why we’re thrilled to support the Voices of Pride (VoP) project, an initiative that needs your input to truly make a difference.
The Voices of Pride project, led by researchers from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and an Advisory Committee of passionate community advocates, is all about gathering actionable data on the needs of our LGBTQ+ community. This community needs assessment will provide a detailed picture of the challenges we face, and the data collected will be used to inform grant making priorities and support community organizations and foundations.
How You Can Make an Impact
Your voice is powerful, and this is your chance to use it! By participating in the Voices of Pride survey, you’re not just filling out a form—you’re contributing to a vital conversation about the needs and priorities of our community. The insights gathered from this survey will directly impact the resources, support, and advocacy that we, as a community, receive.
The more people who participate, the more comprehensive and impactful this data will be. Let’s ensure that every voice in our community is included.
Why Your Voice Matters to Queer Connect
At Queer Connect, we believe in the power of community. Whether you’re a regular at our events or new to the scene, your experiences and insights are essential. This survey isn’t just about numbers—it’s about understanding the real-life needs and challenges that our community faces every day.
By taking part in the Voices of Pride project, you’re helping to create a future where our community is stronger, more inclusive, and better supported. This is your chance to influence the direction of our community’s growth and ensure that everyone has a place to belong.
Let’s come together, spread the word, and make sure that the full spectrum of our community is represented.
Thank you for being an essential part of Queer Connect and for all you do to support our vibrant LGBTQIA+ community in Kansas City.
I'm tired of well meaning people asking if my gender is transgender. It's not, that's not a gender. The best practice in this regard is to ask in one question what their gender is, and to provide many options there, then in a second question to ask if they identify as transgender, yes/no. My gender is non-binary, and I am also transgender.
