That’s why we’re introducing the Q Kansas City Customer Pledge—a commitment that each of us makes when we walk through these doors.
This pledge is about more than just setting expectations—it’s about honoring the space and each other. It’s about ensuring that Q Kansas City remains a place of joy, connection, and uninhibited queer expression.
A Community-Driven Idea
Q Kansas City is built by the community, for the community—and that means giving credit where credit is due.
The idea for this pledge came from community member Nasir Montalvo, who recognized the importance of setting a shared intention for the space. Their insight helped shape this commitment, and we’re proud to bring it to life.

As a guest of Q Kansas City, I pledge to:
Respect the space and the people in it.This is a place where queer people thrive. I will honor that by treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Embrace inclusivity.
Q is for everyone under the queer umbrella and our allies. I will respect pronouns, avoid assumptions, and engage with openness and care.
Prioritize consent.
I will seek clear, enthusiastic consent before touching anyone—whether it’s a hug, a dance, or anything else.
Be mindful of my impact.
I will be aware of my words, actions, and energy, ensuring that my presence contributes to a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Celebrate without harm.
I will drink responsibly, respect the staff, and uphold the safety of the space. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or violence of any kind will not be tolerated.
Support community over conflict.
If an issue arises, I will address it respectfully or seek assistance from Q Kansas City’s staff or security.
