Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced General Manager for Q Kansas City, a high-volume nightclub known for its vibrant and inclusive nightlife. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and significant nightclub management experience. This role is part of a growing bar and restaurant group with multiple locations in Kansas City and Manhattan, KS.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the bar, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.

  • Develop and implement efficient work schedules for bar staff to ensure optimal coverage and service quality.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including cleanliness and hygiene standards.


Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.

  • Address and resolve any staff-related issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.


Customer Service:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered consistently, creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and a focus on positive resolution.

  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, ensuring all guests feel valued and welcomed.


Event Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute special events, theme nights, and community forums.

  • Coordinate with local LGBTQ+ organizations for partnership events and community initiatives.

  • Manage event logistics, including staffing, setup, and breakdown.


Brand Representation:

  • Uphold and promote the brand values and mission of Q Kansas City, ensuring the bar aligns with the club’s identity and goals.

  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing Q Kansas City at community events and within the local LGBTQ+ community.


Compensation:

  • Salary: $90,000/year

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of bar/restaurant/hospitality experience

  • Proficient high-volume bartender

  • Nightlife management experience

  • Security experience in nightlife


Schedule:

  • Full-time position

  • 40-hour work week

  • 5 days on, 2 days off every week

  • Accommodation for regular requests off


Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

  • Proven experience as a Bar or Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.

  • Strong understanding of bar operations and inventory management.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the hospitality industry.

  • Familiarity with the LGBTQ+ community and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and respect.
