WHAT IS QUEER DINNER CLUB?

Welcome to Queer Dinner Club, where we believe in the transformative power of genuine connections and the joy found in sharing a meal together.

Join us monthly as we gather small groups to forge meaningful bonds over delicious food and lively conversation. We create a welcoming space where individuals from all walks of life can come together, share stories, and build lasting friendships.

Whether you're new to the area, looking to expand your social circle, or simply craving some good company, Queer Dinner Club invites you to join us as we come together to nourish both body and soul. Come hungry, leave fulfilled, and discover the magic of genuine connection.

We are thrilled that you have chosen to be a table host at Queer Dinner Club! This event presents an excellent opportunity for you to take a active step in helping  create a more connected Queer community.

Event Time: 6:30 pm - 9pm 

What We Expect from you: 

Thank you for volunteering to be a table host for our Queer Dinner Club event. As a table host, you play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone has a fantastic experience at the dinner. Your responsibilities include promoting conversation, making sure everyone feels included, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

 

​1. Understand the Purpose:

  • The goal of Queer Dinner Club is to create a safe and inclusive space for queer individuals to connect, share experiences, and build community.

  • Your role as a table host is to facilitate conversation and ensure that all attendees feel welcome and engaged.

2. Familiarize Yourself with the Venue:

  • Arrive early to familiarize yourself with the layout of the restaurant and locate your assigned table.

  • Identify any potential barriers to conversation (e.g., noisy areas) and plan accordingly.

 

3. Introduce Yourself:

  • Once guests start arriving, introduce yourself as the table host.

  • Share a brief introduction about yourself to break the ice and encourage others to do the same.

 

4. Set the Tone:

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere by smiling, making eye contact, and using inclusive language.

  • Encourage guests to be respectful of one another's identities and experiences.

 

5. Start Conversations:

  • Initiate conversation by asking open-ended questions related to the theme of the event or general topics of interest.

  • Encourage guests to share their thoughts, experiences, and opinions.

 

6. Listen Actively:

  • Practice active listening by giving your full attention to the speakers.

  • Show empathy and understanding towards different perspectives.

 

7. Manage Group Dynamics:

  • Be mindful of the group dynamics and ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate.

  • Encourage quieter guests to share their thoughts and ensure that dominant voices don't monopolize the conversation.

 

8. Address Conflict or Discomfort:

  • If you notice any conflicts or discomfort at the table, address them calmly and respectfully.
